🛡️ Safe Signals is a life-safety application. Some of the data you provide may be shared with law enforcement agencies and emergency response platforms for the sole purpose of coordinating emergency response. By using Safe Signals, you explicitly consent to this sharing during an active emergency.

1. Who We Are

Safe Signals is operated by Mix It Hub, LLC ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"). We are a personal safety technology company headquartered in the United States.

2. What Data We Collect

Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and password when you create an account.
Emergency Profile: Your physical description, medical conditions, emergency contacts, and any pre-filled safety information you choose to provide.
Location Data: Precise GPS coordinates collected during active emergency sessions. We do not continuously track your location in the background without your consent.
Audio Recordings: Voice recordings you submit as part of an emergency alert. These are stored securely and may be transmitted to emergency responders.
Photos and Video: Images or video captured through the app during an emergency session.
Device Information: Device type, operating system, app version, and crash logs for diagnostic purposes.
Usage Data: How you interact with the app, including screens visited and features used, to improve the product.

3. How We Use Your Data

To dispatch emergency alerts to law enforcement and emergency services.
To transmit your location, audio, photos, and emergency profile to first responders during an active emergency.
To maintain a case record of your emergency alert for follow-up by authorized law enforcement.
To improve app performance, reliability, and safety features.
To communicate with you about your account, safety updates, and service changes.
We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or third-party marketers.

4. Emergency Data Sharing — Law Enforcement

Safe Signals is designed to connect users in distress with emergency services as quickly as possible.
Emergency alert data — including your name, location, audio, photos, and suspect information — may be shared with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies when the nature of the emergency warrants it.
Data shared during an emergency is used solely for emergency response and investigation purposes. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose.

5. SMS Messaging

Safe Signals sends emergency SMS text messages to emergency contacts that the user has manually added in the app.
Messages are sent only when the user triggers a HELP ME NOW emergency alert.
Messages include the user's name, emergency type, and GPS location.
No marketing, promotional, or recurring messages are sent.
Users must confirm SMS consent for each contact before saving. Contacts can reply STOP to opt out at any time.
We do not sell, share, or transfer phone numbers to third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Data Retention

Emergency alert records are retained for a minimum of 7 years to support ongoing law enforcement investigations and legal proceedings.
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, subject to legal hold obligations.
Audio recordings and photos submitted during an emergency are retained as part of the case record and may not be deleted if they are subject to a law enforcement hold.

7. Data Security

All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher.
Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256.
Access to emergency data is restricted to authorized personnel and law enforcement with verified credentials.
We conduct regular security reviews and follow industry best practices for data protection.

8. Your Rights

Right to Know: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to Delete: You may request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal hold exceptions.
Right to Opt-Out: You may opt out of non-essential data collection. Note: opting out of emergency data sharing will disable core app functionality.
Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

9. Children's Privacy

Safe Signals is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted data through our platform, contact us immediately at mona@safesignals.app.

10. Third-Party Services

Google Firebase: Used for authentication, database, and cloud storage. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Twilio: Used for SMS messaging to emergency contacts. Subject to Twilio's Privacy Policy.
We do not share your data with any other third parties except as required by law or as described in this policy.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of Safe Signals after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
